The Johns Practice go Go-Karting

26 June 2009

1st Patrick Edwards

2nd Mathew

3rd Darren Heffer

Amongst the dark skies The Johns Practice descended into Suffolk for a monumental challenge and the acclaim of being known as “Champion”. 7 member of the team plus 2 friends took up the challenge, as the storm clouds cleared and the racers got into their suits. Once the helmets were on all contenders were ready for battle. The cool air mixed with the puddles on track were sure to make for some exciting action. Who was to tame the 700m of this Wild Tracks circuit first as qualifying commenced?

In the first race the results were as followed: Matthew and Patrick 1st and 2nd, Darren Hurrell in 3rd.

After a small break and some friendly banter it emerged that Darren Heffer was blaming his tools for his bad first race. He swapped his Kart, and as the 2nd race was a reverse grid it would mean Darren Heffer was starting from the 3rd positions. With Hurrell in 7th, Mathew 8th and Patrick in 9th, this would be Darren’s chance to get an early break. A good start by all, Darren Heffer was leading into the first corner. Keith suddenly spun sending him to the back, still on the first lap and this time it was Stuarts turn to spin, almost taking out Hurrell in the process, Hurrell took to the grass which allowed Mathew through, Patrick followed suit as Hurrell was getting back up to speed. The race settled down, the 3 leaders Patrick, Matthew and Darren who were now evenly matched, Hurrell was on his own in 4th. with Lee and Stuart having a close battle behind.
